Somerville Solar, over 2.7 MW in size, sits atop a capped municipal landfill in Somerville, TN, utilizes over 8,000 crystalline modules and delivers power to the local utility under a long term PPA. The project is forecast to generate over 3.9 million kWh in its first year of production, which in terms of Carbon Dioxide equivalents, would equate to the annual emissions from nearly 600 passenger cars, and also would equate to emissions from nearly 6.8 million miles from an average vehicle. Also, it would equate to the energy consumption of over 330 typical US households, or the amount of carbon sequestered by nearly 3,300 acres of forest.
